Often the pressures of life can become overwhelming. I help people overcome anxiety by working to understand its underlying causes and applying effective approaches to reduce it.
It’s common to feel anxious when you focus on the worst case scenario of a situation coming true. This leads to a feeling of fear that you won’t be able to cope with a given situation. Fear can be read as an acronym for ‘False Evidence that Appears Real’, reminding us that much of our anxiety can be based on fear that is illusory.
Gain Awareness
Start by gaining insight into your relationship dynamics and identifying underlying issues. Understand how initial excitement can fade over time, leading to power struggles and emotional distance. Recognize common patterns like one partner being direct while the other withdraws, or past experiences triggering sudden arguments.
Improve Communication and Conflict Resolution
Develop new communication skills to foster a healthier relationship. Replace negative criticism with active listening and empathetic responses. Utilize techniques like “mirroring” , paraphrasing what has been said before responding to ensure both partners feel heard and understood. These approaches lay the foundation for creating greater trust , forgiveness and meeting of each others needs.
Rekindle Love and Connection
Focus on nurturing your bond by showing care and appreciation. Spend quality time together, express gratitude, and offer support to each other. By prioritizing acts of love and connection, you can reignite the spark in your relationship and foster a deeper connection.
